I’d like to see a future where tech companies spend zero time on April Fools jokes and more time on accessibility and inclusion.
Why can’t they do both? These are not mutually exclusive

1yThat would be awesome. I created a anonymous survey to see if we had anyone on our team using assistive devices and how well they could navigate the site. I sent it to a manager for approval who as usual sat on it for a long time. Well, I am finally going to send it out on Monday. I try to keep up to date with accessibility tips and talk with local groups about about using inclusive words, etc. I hope to make things usable by everyone. I’ve made suggestions for our docs website and our developer’s platform. I wish they would make accessibility a priority when designing and building, but I do what I can to educate. One day I hope all organizations but accessibility at the start of new design projects, including applications, websites, building, houses, etc. The same for city and state planning. There are too many places that aren’t accessible. I don’t know what it takes to get on a local planning board, but I have many ideas for my area. Insurance companies and politicians need to think about accessibility and inclusion. If they did they wouldn’t have extreme limitations in policies and promoting or passing legislation that are hateful towards different population groups, such as women, LGBTQ + especially the trans community…
