David Dylan Thomas Cognitive bias cover
Prevent the blind spots that can hurt users

Our minds take shortcuts to get through the day. Usually they’re harmless. Even helpful. But what happens when they’re not?

David Dylan Thomas wrote Design for cognitive bias, a book full of ideas and advice that can be directly applied by UX writers and content designers.

In this talk, he will use real-world examples to identify some particularly harmful biases that lead users to make bad decisions. He will then share some content strategy and design choices we can use in our apps, designs, and platforms to redirect or eliminate the impact of those biases. Finally, he will explore our own biases as designers and some methods to prevent our own blind spots from hurting users.

What are our webinars like?

Very informative and useful session with real examples. For me, as someone who worked as a translator/ copy writer in Marketing before taking up a new role as UX writer, this gave me more clues of the difference between the two writing styles.

I was really impressed with conversational vibe that Ben brought. This being my first webinar with you - I was even more delighted with how all the participants were so passionate and wanting to help each other, esp in the chat.

Loved the personal experiences shared. Loved that she was so relatable and and shared mistakes, struggles, etc. It made me feel like I was on the right path, since I was able to relate to so many of the experiences she shared.
